The Extrapolation Factory ran this one-day design futures workshop at Genspace, the community biology lab in New York, in February 2017. Working with prompt cards and Bio Futures worksheets, participants mapped possible consequences of emerging biotechnologies, then used the lab as a prototyping studio, building speculative products and tools from lab supplies, toy parts and found materials. The day ended with short presentations and a display of the prototypes on the lab benches.
